The beauty of winter at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center - for those four season people.

The Schlitz Audubon Nature Center is one hundred and eighty five acres of natural habitat for birds, wildlife, and humans alike! The land is at the heart of everything they do. It’s allowed the establishment of a 40-year reputation of excellence in environmental education for people of all ages.

Winter is a fantastic time to visit the Center. Depending on the weather and temperature, the Lake Michigan shoreline is continually reshaping itself with ever-changing ice canos, glistening icicles, and breathtaking sunrises. Members can check out snowshoes for free while visiting; $10 per pair for nonmembers. Cross-country skis are welcome on the Center’s trails. See how many tracks you can discover and identify in the snow!

These scenes were captured on the nature trails on January 3, 2016. Enjoy!
